Credit Crunch Information: Lenders withdraw 90% BTL Products
Following the recent US sub-prime mortgage lending UK mortgage lenders responded by withdrawing certain
mortgage products from the market on a daily basis.
In August 2007 there were 30,000 mortgage products on the UK market.
Today there are only 5,916 mortgage products available in the UK. (Figures taken 23/04/2008)
BTL Mortgage products have reduced to around 1,458 Products, only 750 of which would be available at 80% LTV, and
now only 270 products at 85% LTV.
BTL Lenders have now withdrawn all 90% Buy to let products from the market. We do expect 90% Products to start comming
back later this year. Yet we can still offer rental based 85% BTL mortgages and even buy to let mortgages with no proof
of rental income.
